The total dropout rate for students in the four-year period of grade nine to twelve in Alameda County is 26.7 percent. For Hispanics, the rate is 31.1 percent, which is critical since Hispanics are the fastest growing ethnic group in the nation.

Los Concilios de Servicio Automotriz de California, La Fundación del Colegio Chabot y Tecnología Automotriz del Colegio Chabot recientemente presentaron sus Reconocimientos para la Educación Técnica Profesional (CTE, por sus siglas en inglés). The Automotive Service Councils of California, the Chabot College Foundation, and Chabot College Automotive Technology recently presented their annual Career Technical Education (CTE) Awards. The ceremony recognized many students and instructors from college, high school, and regional occupations programs (ROP) in Automotive, Machine Tool, and Welding technology. Los estudiantes de Chabot College Emanuel Ruiz, Jessica Hollie, Faizan Fedaie, y Theron Reyes ven bajo el cofre de un Tesla roadster eléctrico durante una visita de Tesla Motors a la clase Tecnología de Autos Híbridos. Los estudiantes ejer-cerán carreras técnicas relacionadas a los nuevos autos híbridos y eléctricos.

El único fabricante automotriz en los Estados Unidos que produce y vende vehículos eléctricos capaces de recorrer carreteras bajo un régimen de producción de serie se encuentra justo aquí, en el Área de la Bahía. La única planta de ensamblaje en California se encuentra justo aquí en el Éste de la Bahía. Chabot College students Emanuel Ruiz, Jessica Hollie, Faizan Fedaie, and Theron Reyes look under the hood of an electric Tesla roadster during Tesla Motors’ visit to the college’s Hybrid Auto Technology class. Students will be pursuing technical careers related to the newest hybrid and electric cars.

The only automaker in the U.S. that builds and sells highway-capable electric vehicles in serial production is based right here in the Bay Area. The only auto assembly plant in California is right here in the East Bay. Tesla Motors is the company and two of its representatives recently visited the Hybrid Auto Technology class at Chabot College in Hayward. Students were thrilled to inspect Tesla’s $109,000 Roadster and get rides in the super-fast sports car – it accelerates faster than most sports cars yet produces no emissions.

Escuelas locales utilizarán energía solar con ayuda de PG&E

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) ha seleccionado 25 escuelas del Centro y Norte de California para recibir subvenciones de $10,000 de fondos provenientes de Bright Ideas. El dinero será utilizado hacia proyectos enfocados a reducir el uso de la energía, ahorrar dinero y ayudar a los estudiantes a entender lo que es la energía renovable.
