¿QUÉ SE PROPONE? El Departamento de Control de Sustancias Tóxicas de California (DTSC) lo invita a revisar y comentar sobre un borrador del plan de limpieza para Sequoia Grove (Sitio) ubicado en 123 A Street en Hayward, CA 94541. El Sitio actualmente es propiedad de la Ciudad de Hayward, quien está trabajando con Habitat for Humanity East Bay Silicon Valley, Inc. para construir viviendas asequibles. El borrador de RAW es un plan para limpiar el plomo y los pesticidas que se encuentran en el suelo. La solución propuesta es la excavación y eliminación de 660 yardas cúbicas (aproximadamente 70 camiones) de suelo contaminado. La excavación tendría aproximadamente un pie de profundidad, y un área requeriría remoción de tierra a aproximadamente cuatro pies de profundidad (consulte la figura en la última página). La tierra contaminada se transportaría a un vertedero autorizado y las áreas excavadas se rellenarían con tierra limpia. El Sitio se limpiaría según los estándares residenciales para que los futuros ocupantes estén protegidos. Los trabajos de limpieza tardarían hasta dos semanas en completarse. Se enviará por correo un aviso de trabajo a la comunidad una semana antes de que comience la limpieza.
